Every other night we are out dining and enjoy our outings only to spend the next two days dieting. Does it sound familiar? Well eating out is something all of us look forward to. But how many of us really stop and think of our diet before we order the dishes?
How many times have you ordered the dishes seen on the photos and found it disappointing? . What the menu card shows and what you get on the table can be different. Better would be to choose a dish that is healthy and appeals to you.
Always remember, what you see need not be what you get. Don’t fall for what the menu card shows you. They are meant to tempt you to sin.
Menu cards will claim a lot of things about their dishes, which will not always be true and cannot be proven. An intelligent customer will go through the description to decide what he wants to order rather than go by their claims.
Menu cards are meant to help you order and list dishes in a way to make it more attractive. They do not indicate any calorie content or other health related information. The ownership of choosing healthy dishes is on the guest and not on the hotel.
Restaurants try to create a picture of health and often exhibit nicely carved vegetable and fruit stall in the halls. Do not be fooled by these settings. What you order need not be healthy for the vegetables may have been deep fried or cooked with cheese and high fat mediums.
The nutritional and calorie content depends upon the method of cooking too. Vegetables if steamed retain their original values and contents than being fried or cooked with other ingredients.
Many restaurants offer you sampling of the dishes before you order them. This is one thing that you must watch out for and avoid. Most often you might end up sampling a whole lot of unhealthy stuff, which has been prepared just to look good and taste good but not healthy.
Dining out can be a good healthy and enjoyable experience if you know how to choose the dishes with care and make healthy choices.
Besides dining out, the writer also frequently publishes information on farmhouse kitchen table and small tractors for sale.
